Tlie annua! meeting of St. Joseph's Harriers was held in St. Joseph's Hp.ll on ?Joiiday evening. The cliuir Wits occupied by ill' T. J. Husaey. and -there was an altcntoice of SO members. • !
Tie Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheei, congratulated the club on its very satisfactory condition, "'he season started witb about 14 activo monitors, but at the close there were' Jl iWmos on tho roll. The open events taken put in by ilia mombors who tho Interehib Cross Country and Port Chalmers Road Race. In the termer event the club's team did not run very prominently, but one of the members, Mr J. Swnnson, made amends for this by winning tho liond Race. Tile invitation issued to tho various clubs in the city to run from St. Joseph's Hall attracted about 100 harriers. This 'unction proved very successful, and a special vote of tkankr, was due to Mrs Jacksou, who khidly supplied refreshments on tho occasion, and who also entertained tho members at a musical evening at the close of tho season. To the following the membra were indebted for invitations:—Mcsdames J. B. Calian and Bryant, Misses Colunib, Staunton, and Purton (and friends), tho rector Holy Cross College, Dominican Nuns (North-East Valley), Sisters of the Poor (Anderson's Bay), Wakari School Committee, Maori Hill Borough Council, snd the Port Chalmers Harriers, also to Dr O'Neill for very handsome trophy (won by G. J. Swanson, first in Sealed Handicap and Championship). The report was adopted unanimously. Tho following office-bearers wcro then elected Patron, Rev, Father Coffey; president, Hon, J. B. Calian; vice-presidents-Rev. Father Buckley, Dr O'Neill, and Mr Thomas Doehan; captain, Mr T. J. Hussey (re-elected); deputy captain, Mt J. Swanson; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mt J. Quelch; auditor, Mr E. V. Spain; committee—captain. deputy captain, secretary, and Messrs J. B. Calian and P. Rodgers; delegate N.Z.A.A.A., Mr Calian. Votes of thnntcs wcro passed to the press and tile owners of property made use of last season. .The chairman expressed the hope that members during the coining season would tako as great care of the property of tlie farmers and others as they had done iji tho past-. It was decided to open the season on Saturday, April 13. Votes of_ thanks to tho retiring officebearers and the chair olokxl tho meeting.
