The estimated revenue in the second year was £118,000, £7600, and £3300 respectively for the three schemes, giving an approximate net: profit of £1600, £730, and £600 respectively. The following resolution was passed:— "Thai: it lie notified that it is tho intention of tho council of the Borough of .\ttpier to apply for an Order-in-Couneil authorising tlio installation of eleclrie lighting and the construction of a tramway, lo be run on the lines of Mr .Black's report; and, further, that the Ilawke's Bay Council, tho Taradale Town Board, and tho Wha.reomaracnui Reclamation .Syndicate bo informed what steps the council are taking, so that: they also may take the necessary steps in case it is wished to extend Iho trams from the borough to Taradale."
