LARGE NUMBER OF APPLICANTS. A spccial mooting of tile Olago Land Board was hoki yesterday for the purpose of examining applicants for tho subdivisions of tho Totaru Settlement, the briHotting for which takes place at Oamani this week. There were presom—the Commissioner (Mr D. Bftvvon), Messrs J. Tough. W. Dallas, and J. M'jCcnzic. Nineteen applicants presented themselves, of whom lb were approved. (From Ocp. Ow.n' ■Cohbesposdest.) The following are tlio numbers of applications for tho various subdivisions of the J'otara Sott lement: —Subdivision 1 (one 'arm), 16; subdivision 2 (two farms), 16; subdivision 3 (three farms), 16; subdivision 4 (two farms), nil; subdivision 5 (two farms), 1; subdivision 6 (one farm), 21; subdivision 7 (two farms), 4; subdivision 8 (one farm), nil; subdivision 9 (three farms), 7; subdivision 10 (three farms), 1; subdivision 11 (one farm), 43; subdivision 12 (three farms), 43; subdivision 13 (one farm), 21. Tha iolal applications number 189] Ihc following sections are unapplied for:— Ba, 9a, 12a, 14a, 20a, and 21a. Tho examination of applicants will proceed to-morrow.
