SOME COMING ATTRACTIONS, (Fboji Our Special Correspondent.) CHPJSTCIIUItCII, March 25. There was again a good attendance at the Exhibition to-day, consisting almost entirely of visitors to Chrislciiureh. One hundred school children arrived front Banks l'eniivaila, and will remain at tils Exhibition until Wednesday. Some of them from outlying bays had never seen a train. The Tuiakina Maori girls visited the oadet encanipnie.ufc this morning and gavo performances of poi dances, being entertained afterwards at dinner by tile olKcers. Later in the afternoon they gave an excellent. programme of dances in the pa before a largo attendance. Hakas wore also danced by a .number of Maoris resident in the pa. Similar entertainments will bo given daily. The sheep-yarding competitions on tho Sports Ground to-day attracted an unusually large attendance. Thcro was no orchestral concert this evening, the Concert Ilall being required for the rehearsal of tho oratorio "Hlijah," to be given by the orchestra and chorus of 140 voices on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings next. The sale of tickcts in the Exhibition art union will close on Thursday night, and tho drawing for the prizes will tako place on Saturday. A party of schoolgirls were to leave Hokitika this evening in charge of a lady teacher for the purpose of visiting the Exhitition. Accommodation, is being provided for them at the Exhibition "home," and

it is expected that if the visit passes off successfully a. very large number of schoolgirls from other parts of the colony will visit the Exhibition under the same conditions. The period for receiving tenders for tho removal of the Exhibition buildings lias been extended till April 8, owing to tho large number of inquiries made and applications for more time to work out tho approximate amount of timber contained in tho building. Mr Miit.ro has received requests from Wellington for tho holding of tho final fireworks display on Easter Saturday instead of Easter Monday. It is pointed out that a largo number of visitors from Wellington will have to leave again on Monday night to commence work on Tuesday. Tile matter is under consideration. Meanwhile a. specially fine display of fireworks in eonJunction with tho pieturcsquo act, "Fighting the (lames," and concert by massed bands will bo given next Wednesday night. Tile following footbaJl matches will ho played on the Exhibition Sport 6 Ground on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday:— Albion (Christchurch) v. .Southern (Dunedin), Clirrstchurch v. Mr Hopkins, the Government Apiarian, gave an address on Bce-kcoping" at the Exhibition on Saturday, dealing particularly with artificial queen rearing, to a number ot interested visitors. All tlie appliances of an up-to-dalo apiary and the method of working them were explained, and a practical demonstration ot the handling of bees was given. Similar addresses will bo given on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays till the close of tho Exhibition, but visitors can obtain information on bco-kceping every day. There is understood to be a probability of the French operatic soprano, Miss Blanche Arral. being heard in tlio Exhibition Conceit Ilall at an early date.
