HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. , The Royal Comic Opera Company made its final appearance: at His Majesty's Thca'tro last night, when "The Country Girl" was staged before a- very large and enthusiastio audience. Two extra items wore given, Miss Clara Clifton singing "In my time," from " Tho Orchid," and Miss Alma Barber contributing " Sloe oyes," from " The Oiiigalce," both of which met with special favour at the hands of tho audience. "THE MIDNIGHT WEDDING." Tho new and romantic military drama "The Midnight Wedding" will form ilm opening attraction of the return season o£ Messrs Jfeynell and Gunn's "Fatal WedKing" Company, which commences at His Majesty's on Saturday, March 30. Beatty, who was specially engaged whilst in America., Mr Beatty is a- strong favourite'with New Zenlanders, who recollect his splendid performances as King Charles in " Sweet Noll of Old Dmry" and other plays in which Miss Kellio Stewart and Mr Harcouit Beatty figured so prominently. Graham and; Mis 3 Nellie Dent receivings specially good treatment in this respect. This evening the present strong combination will be seen in an entirely new bill, and ?.n excellent programme may be anticipated. PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY. Tho fust subscribers' concert of tho society will be given in the Garrison Hail on Tuesday. An attractive programme has: been arranged, including Wagner's overture " Die Mfistersingcr," Beethoven's overture "Fi<lelio," march Perscan (Strauss), Dvorak's Slavonic Dances, while "Andante Cantabile" (Tschaikov/sky) and an intermezzo, " Moonlight music" (Laportc), for strings only, will be included in the programme. A violin solo " Conherto Militairo" (Dazzini) wilt be played by Mr J. Wallace. The vocal part of the programme will bo supplied by Mrs >A. C. Jjoring and Mr E. Lawn.
