THE COMPETITIONS AT CHRISTCHURCH. (Per Unitid Pkiss Association.) CHIUSTCHimCI-I, March 21. The bi-onnial competitions under the auspices of the United Fire Brigade Associations were continued to-day on the Exhibition Sports, Ground. The attendance of # the public in the afternoon was most disappointing. On account of tho half-holiday a large crowd was expected. All the morning was occupied with tho hose, hydrant, and union event, and it is anticipated that matters will have lo be hurried considerably to bring the 'competitions to a close to-morrow, evening.
