SHORTAGE OP ROLLING-STOCK. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 21. The difficulty created by the inadequate supply of trucks for the Auckland railways has nov: reached an acuto stage, and it has injured tho frozen meat export trade of Auckland so seriously that the Auckland Fanners' Freezing Company is faced with a decrease in the total weight of lamb frozen as compared with last year, whereas there would have been a' sustontial increase had trucks been forthcoming. To-day Mt J .Barugh, chairman of directors, sent tho following telegram to the Minister of Haihvays:—" At a. meeting of directors of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company the following resolution was passed: 'That this company advises the Minister of Railways that owing to the sliortagoftif rolling stock on the AucklandWaikato Section the Farmers' Freezing Company, its clients, and workmen are suffering great financial joss. Fifty per cent, more luinbs, exclusive of delay through floods, could have gone through had trucks been avaliablc, and we ask you for immedinto relief.'"

EXPORT OF AUCKLAND BUTTER.

(Per United Pesss Association.) AUCKLAND, March 21. AVith this week's shipment of butter tho export season l'or the Auckland province closes, and from March 31, 190G, to the present (Into tho total export hns been 133,639 boxes, or 3342 tons, as against 103,022 boxes, or 2700 tons, for the previous year, an increase in export of G42 tons. Last season, at corresponding date, between 2000 and 3009 boxes were in store, while to-day, exclusive of Saturday's shipment, there were 17.5i3 boxes. Taking lest season's holding at 3000 boxes at corresponding date, although it was considerably less, the butter held in store now shows an increase o( 14,513 boxes, or 363 tons, over last season's storage to date, so that the make of butter this season shows an increase of 1005 tons, or roughly il'lo,ooo more money returned to the province. The total make of butter is, of course, not covered by these figures, bccnusc local consumption is not accounted for, nor is tho southern trade counted in, and that is much larger this year than last, owing to the drought in Otago and Southland. The quality on the whole 'has been admirable, many factories scoring second grade last year, having eomo well into first grade this yew. The largest shipment of the season was by the I'aparoa on December 15 (14,751 boxes). The largest shipment of the previous season was by tho Tcyigariro on January 18, I'JOG (0533 boxesV

Competition was good, and prices all round were on a par with last sale. Included in our catalogue were several lines ot stout ox hides, and thos'i sold well, our top price being TJd. paid for one weighing 701b. We nlsn sold three 721b at 7jd, two lines of 7311) and 77ib at 7Jd, one of liOlb at 7Jd, and two of 751b at 7d.
