ARBITRATION COURT
(Pzr UwiTEtf Pmss Association.) WELLINGTON. February 2*. The Arbitration Court has been occupied for sOiile time hearing alleged breaches of the recent award in regard to tile cooks and waiters. Through an oversight on Ihe part of the hotel and restaurant keepers the recommendations) of the Conciliation L'oard became law without reference to the Arbitration Court. There has been unccrta:iity regarding the strict enforcement of the board's agreement, tlie. employers in nuny instances failing to comply with its frvms. As a result the Cooks and Waiters' Uir.on sought, the protection of Ihe court, In .several eases employers were fined for breaches of (ho agreement, the court ruling that it would have to lie followed. For breaches of awards in other trades some employers were, lined up to £5 for paying •less than the stijJtilfltcd iVitt'e and employing non-unionists.
