TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCILS
(Pir United Press Association.) STRATFORD, February 22. A conference of delegates from tho various county councils in Taranaki met hero to-day to discuss the difficulties in the collection of rates on Native Jands. It -was resolved to make representations to the Minister on tho matter. Tho meeting also diijcussed the spread of noxious weeds, and' passed resolutions favouring better provisions in tho law for dealing with weeds on lands in Native occupation, advocating temporary inspectors of noxious woods at certain times, and that tho inspectors in charge bo empowered to prosecute without further refcrcnco to tho department.. Tho ■nccting also discussed model by-laws.
