The Hon. J. A Millar. Minister of Labour, accompanied by Mr J. H. Thomson (private secretary), arrived in Dunedin last night by tho second express, and took up quarters at tlio Grand Hotel. Mr Millar's visit is purely en departmental business, but it is understood that be will also receive deputations. The Minister leaves for Wellington oil Saturday morning.

At the King .Street Congregational Church on Sunday evening a number of friends of Miss A. P. Uttley presented her. in view of her approaching marriage with Mr J. F. Strang, of Invercargiil, with some token oi their regard and . esteem. Tlje presentation, which was moro part.ioula.rly from members of the choir a»l Bible class, took the form of a handsomely engraved silver cake dish. The Pev. G. Heighway expressed, regret at her departure, and Mr Joseph Abernothy, leader of the Bible' class; and until recently leader of the choir, ateo referred to tho loss which the choir and Bible class would sustain by her removal.
