RECHABITES' COUNCIL.
(Pkr United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, February 19. Tlic thirty-fifth annual council of the Xow Zealand Central District of the Independent Order of Rechabites was opened this morning. Fifty-eight • representatives ot tents all over llie colony were present. The rules as revised by the district officers were adopted. The report stated that there lverc 31 maU; and four female tents., with 1675 adult monikers. The district trust funds at present were: Funeral. £8107 14s sd; sick pay, £1514- 13s 6d; benevolent, £223 5s 7(1 j contingent, £204 15s 6d; juvenile, £96 9s lOd-total, £10,146 19s 6d. The total tent funds amounted to £26,337 Is lOd. which, added lo the district fund, made £36,484 0s lOd—a total increase ot £2589 los 6(1. The report was adopted; also the Juvenile Branches' report, showing 366 members; funds, £310 17s Id. A committee was set. up io confer with the Auckland disirict delegates to consider the question of amalgamation, and report to-morrow. The entrance fee to the order was reduced to 2s 6(1.
