"FAIRLY WELL CONDUCTED,"

TO TirE EDITOR. j Sir,—The police report at the quarterly meeting of the Dunedin Licensing Committee, held last Monday, appears to havo stated that one- of tho hotels was only "fairly well' conducted." When asked by tho chairman for an explanation, the inspector could only say .thai, a doubt existed— "a something pimply amounting to suspicion.". That seems to mc a very vaguo or indefinite way of giving an expression as to tho conduct of! sonie of our hotelkeepers,. • The question which , naturally arises with tho general public is, To whom docs it refer?
