A LOCK-OUT IMMINENT. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, SYDNEY, September 9. (Received Sept. 10, at 1.8 a.m.) There is every prospect of a general lock-out in the Maitland district mines, failing negotiations for tho abolition of the working of the dog watch in the pits on Sunday nights. The Kmi Kuri miners gave a fortnight's notice, which terminates at midnight to-night. This notice directly affects 275 men, but reports from Newcastle to-night state that tho owners are determined that, it the men refuse to work the dog watch, they will not be allowed to enter the pits to-morrow morning. This nteans idling about 2000 men.
