(Received Sept. 9, at 5.15 p.m.) A man named Robert Rogers, an upholsterer, of Kendal Rise, has been remanded on a charge of murdering his wife and two children. He attempted to kill ii third child itiul also the wife of his brother with a razor. .A fearful struggle took place before the murderer was disarmed. The act is attributed to a delusion that he was faced with poverty and starvation. His brother recently arrived Home from New Zealand.
Expert- evidence in tho Basildon murder case shows that there were indications that Mr Watson was shot at a distance of 12ft and that life wife via shot twice at distances of 18ft and Bft respectively. Theprisoners clothes and boots were slightly blood-stained. Both have been committed for trial.
