WELLINGTON POULTRY SHOW

The annual show of the Wellington •Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society, which opened io-Jay, is tho largest exhibition of the- kind yet hold in Wellington, there being 1230 entries. In poultry, the breed showing the trrcatosl improvement is the Wvan-dot-te. the Orpington classes following them closvly. The winning silvcr-facod pullet in Wyaniiottcs is exhibited by R. 0. King, of Stirling (Otago), and is said to I'e a remarkably fine bird. Tho first prizes for Andalnsians went to G. It. Hutchinson, of Auckland. Four North Island championships wore allotted to the' show. Threo of them have- been awarded as follows:— r.rajunas, A Simpson; Dragon pigeons; D. Craig; working homers, H. Bell. The championship for bantams will lie awarded to-morrow. In canaries, tho Shortt trophy was won by R. W. Thompson, of Auckland, and tho 10-guinea prize by C. A. Arthur, of Wellington.
