EDUCATION BOARD ELECTIONS.

TO THE JtOITOS Sir,—As an elector of Clutlia and also k. ono taking an interest in education, I li&vo been thinking over these elections that are to tako place for tk<' Kducation Board. 1 have also been waking some inquiries about tile board's meetings, and the par to members, and the time Parliament sits, and J lind that if our member stands (Mr Malcolm) and gets in. he will bo a week away every month attending tho board's meetings, or else ho will bo neglecting tho Education Hoard. Then, again, if both Mr Malcolm and Mr Mackenzie are elected wo will have only ono member out of three attending to the board's work during about live months of the year, and that would bo unfair to the Botith ward. 1 admit that one member of tho board in' Parliament, is of value. We ha.vo already Mr Mackenzie, anil lie has shown all along how well lie can look after our interests, and it does seem strango that after Mi Mackenzie had announced himself Mr Malcolm should also declare himself. Another thing, too, apart, from that aspect, does Mr Malcolm not. think ho has already done very well? Does lie not think that he should devoto himself lo his parliamentary duties, and cut his political eye-teeth before endeavouring to be everything all at once? For my part, I am going to support the three old members, who liavo done very well for us,—l am, pic.. South Ward's "Intebes" Clutha, June 26.
