CASUALTIES.
An old man named James Stewart, aged 1 years, an inmate of tho Benevolent
"Institution, met his death by choking at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. It appeal's that a' visitor named Mary Antonio had visited tile insti-
tution for the purpose of seeing' anothor inmate, and out of kindness to the old man had pooled an orange and out it up in pieocs for him, leaving them hy his lied. It is conjectured tliat ho choked himself While trying t-o sjvallow one of the pieces, and succumbed before assistance could be rendered.
A hoy named Alexander Myc fell from tile platform of a carriage of the 6.2o'p.'ni. train to Mosgiol on Friday just as it was entering Burnsjde. Fortunately he fell clear of the train, and 1 sustained no serious injuries,
