AUCKLAND, May 6. A number- of members of Parliament attended at Messrs Macky, Logan, Caldwell, and Co.'s warehouse, where the ipanagement pointed oui certain anomalies in the interpretations of the tariff in view of the compilation of a new tariff during' thf) present Parliament. Samples of . the various materials admitted free in southern centres and charged duty here' were shown, together with samples in which a differential rate was charged, tho necessity of uniform interpretation being then emphasised. It was also explained' that a mero difference in stripe rendered articles otherwise free liable to duty.
