MUTINY IN A GAOL

SHANGHAI, May 5.

Fifty long-sentence prisoners in the municipal gaol at Shanghai armed themselves with tools and 1 swords and attempted to escape. Tliey wounded Mr Biennersasset (the governor of the gaol) and also two Indian warders. The governor shot a noted brigand named Yayaomao dead, and another Chinaman was killed, while several were wounded. The trouble has been quelled.
