A MINING TRAGEDY
Press Association—Bj Telegraph—Copyright,
BERLIN, May 5. (Received May 5, at 11.14 p.m.) Twenty-two corpses have been found in the Borussin mine (Westphalia). There are indications that the men starved after the explosion in the mine in June. The men had caulked all the crevices with strips of their clothes in order to prevent an inrush of gases. Tho explorers from the surface, similar to those at Courrieres, early relinquished hope.
