BOWLING.

TAIERI v. DUNEDIN. The Taieri v. Dunedin intcrclub fixture was played at Dnnedm Green on Saturday ui'der pleasant conditions. Taieri had a commanding lead up to the last quarter ot an hour, but Dunediii then began to mako up lost ground. It was remarkable that Taieri should have so suddenly come to a , standstill and that Dnnedm should score so heavily in the last few ends. When the last head—between T. Neill and Stevenson—was about to be played Dunedin was 1 to the good, and when skips crossed Taieri lay 3. Neill drew aud saved 2, and the. Taieri skipper endeavoured to wrest Weill's howl, just missing the mark, the game ending in a lie amid much excitement. After the game Mr E. Finder spoke on behalf of Taieri. His club was pleased that they had so nearly defeated such a strong club as Dunedin. Taieri always looked for a keen game, and 'on the parent green this always eventuated. He took occasion to specially thank the ladies who had provided refreshments. Mr P. Miller replied on behalf of Dunedin. The following were the players and scores: —

In response to an invitation from the verymuch alive Palmorston Club three rinks from Kaituna visited them on Satudray, and had a most exciting and enjoyable game. Although the green was not in ns perfect condition as usual, the weather was all that could be desired, and the Pahnerslon howlers and their wives worthily maintained their reputation for hospitality. Although Kaituna sent out a very strong team, they were unable to return victorious, the drawing and driving of Dr Hisiop. D. Ferguson, and E. 11. Clark being irresistible, and the position play of their rinks almost perfect. Even the redoubtable C. T. Paterson was unable to hold his end up until it. camo to the congratulations after the game, when, in a most happy and humorous speech, he replied on behalf of the Kaituna Club to the W(d!-cho?en remarks of President Muir, of the Palmcrston Club.
