MINISTERS ON TOUR.

(Feb TJkited Pbess Association.) GERALDINE, March 16. The Premier and the Minister of Lands, on visiting Gcraldine to-day, wero met at Orari by local representatives and an escort of Mounted Rifles for a drive to Gcraldine, whoro the Mayor (Mr Maslin) gave a, formal welcome. Deputations made tc-j quests for a branch railway to Gcraldine, a, now post office, increased telephone facilities, and smaller matters; and a third deputation complained, of the high land valuations and manner of making these. Mr Soddon recommended looking to the electric ears as more feasible than an expensive, branch railway. Ho promised consideration of other requests, and argued with tlio deputation that their views regarding valuations were mistaken. Their suggested improvements in methods wero no real remedy. Later, Ministers attended a public meeting, at which a presentation was made to Mr F. R. Flntman by his constituents.
