EXPLOSION AT GASWORKS.

CHRISTCHUKCK, March 16. A rather serious explosion occurred at the Gas Company's works this afternoon. Fortunately no one was Jmrt, but consider able damage was done to portion of the plant. The No. 2 holder was buckled and twisted, tho top of tho condenser blown off, and several manholes completely destroyed. The force of the explosion fractured somo of the pipes and windows, and toro a hole through tho roof. Tho company anticipates tli.it it wi'li probably take six weeks to repair tho damage, but the usual town supply will not bo affeofced. '
