SCENERY PRESERVATION COMMISSION.
(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 15. Referring to the Scenery Preservation Commission, tlio Premier considers that there has been too much delay in dealing with some of tta reserves which should have? been secured, with Ihe result that the Government had been involved in additional cost. The commission linil cost the colony £2500 in fees, travelling expenses, etc.. and it was about time to cut the p?inter and hand th<> powers of the commission over to officers of the Land Department. The commissioners wore stil! travelling, and he supposed they thought, they were sroiug on for over, but tboj- had made a mistake. The commission comprised good men, but there had been too much delay.
