THE SOUTHERN RECREATION RESERVE.
10 THE EDITOR. Sin,—ln the Reserves Committee's report, to be presented at to-night's City Council meeting it is stated that application had been mado by a Mr Redaelli to run a merry-go-round, for which a sito has to be ohosen ir the reservo ot many names and abominations. That important part of the application 'dealing with the sito has to bo dealt with by the city engineer and the superintendent of gardens and reserves. As the above reservo has an acreage of over 25 acres, the corporation officials might not be able, to agree upon a, site to pleas© Mr Eedaclli, which should havo been provided for by appointing the District Health Officer to decide whether the spot selected would require a few barrels of chloride oflime—a lime said to be both pleasant and healthy, and easily distinguishable from other perfumes said 1 to exist in that locality. A professor of music should bo appointed to sco that the musical part of the entertainment would be satisfactory to the cars of tho residents of the surrounding neighbourhood. It would givo mo the greatest pleasure to show tho corporation "selectors." a suitable plaeo whereon to hold open-air meetings, instead of at tho fountain.—l am, etc., February 11, Aibasi.
