PITT to prevent councils leasing recreation rofervw on'building tease. Another new clause was imsortcd giving council; power to make cycle tracla on any street and make regulations for tho ccntrol thereof. The bill was roportod. ANIMALS PROTECTION BILL. Tho Animals Protection Bill was amended in commifctco to enable a bona- fide occupier of land or his son or any one person appointed by tho owner to kill gamo on the owner's land without a penalty. This olausc is in substitution of section 7 of tho principal act. Tho bill was reported. SAND DRIFT. Tho Sand Drift Bill was reported without amendment. SEA FISHERIES. In committeo on the Sea Fisheries Bill a proviso was inserted in elauso 6 fixing tho open season for rock oyotors to the effcefc that tho Governor may close the season for any term net exccedine three yenTS. Tho bill was reported. Tho Council rose at 5 o'clock.
