Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society was favoured with fine weather to-day for tho second day, anil tho result wai a record attomlanco, about 14,000 persons being on Hie ground. Tho display of hacks and carriage horses was a very good one, and tlio show of pigs was the best yet seen in Harte'.i Bay, chief honours being fairly equally divided between tho Manawatu breeders—-Messrs Slack Bros., J. Jarvis, B. <iray, ar.ul E. White. The lastnamed exhibitor received the points' prize, whilo in addition to the championships previously awarded ill - ,1. ,larvis gained that for Tainworth boar. There was a fine collection of poultry, the points' prize being divided between Mr S. Ci-owther and Messrs Taplin Bros. The points' prize for dogs was won by Mr YV. A. Smith. Tho Native industries seotion contained in curly 200 oxliibits, and was a vrrj- attractive feature of the show. A sheep-uncaring competition was won by Mr Henry (rc-mmcll. Tho leapin" competition was won by Mr fl. Uaorall's Pickpocket, with Mm Pieynolda's King Jimmy sccond, and Mrs D. (J. Puddiford's Gay Boy third. A handicap wocd-chc.pping competition was won by Mr M'D'Xia-ld. Tho railway returns indicated a very large inerea-so in the attendance over last year's total. The Lloyd-Lindsay competition wus won by -tho Hawke'i! Bay Mounted"RiP.es, tlio South Wairarapa Mount-ad Rifles being second, and tho I'eHdiug Mounted Rifles third.
