THE CONSOLIDATED FUND.

ELLINGTON, October 22. Tlio statemmit of receipts and expenditure of tho Consolidated Fund f or tlio quarter ending September 30 is published ill to-night's Gazette. This shows that the balanco at tlio end of last quarter, less Treasury bills outatunding (£800,000), amounted to £47,945. The ordinary revenue during tlio quarter yielded £1.570,497, the leading sources of incoino being: Customs, £693,520; railways, £502,928; stamps, £241,774. Tlio territory revenue amounted to £83,885, and recoveries on account of expenditure of previous quarters to £14,372. The total receipts were £1,714,251. On tlio expenditure sido of tlio account permanent, absorbed £357,425. Included in this sum- is interest and sinking fund £165,917, and old-age pontons £55,606. Tlio payments on annual appropriations amounted to £912,382. The cash in public account at «nd of quarter was £579,607, and tlio quarter ended with a net available balance of £444,443.
