ROME, April 27. {Received April 28, at 8.39 a.m.) King Edward landed and entrained for Rome amidst extraordinary enthusiasm.
The Mayor of Rome lias issued a manifesto wherein he reminds Italians that but for England the unity of Italy would not have been accomplished.
; . . April 28. . (Received April 28, at 11.30 p.m.) The King of Italy and tho municipality and people of Rouio havo combined to accord King Edward a splendid, cordial,and picturesque reception. The decorations have been carried out on a magnificent scale, and are most artistic. The King of Italy contributed £10,000 towards the cost of the military display, which was brilliant and imposing. The King and Royal Princes welcomed King Edward on arrival jvt the station.
Replying to an address of welcome presented by Prince Cclonna and the Mayor of Rome, King Edward said ho was happy to render personal homage to the Eternal City. After greeting Queen Helena at the Quirinal, lie visited tho Queen Dowager Margherita.
