EIGHT HOURS DAY
Press Association-fly Telegraph-Copyright, MELBOURNE, April 28. (Received April 28, at 10.2 a.m.) Despite the rain large crowds witnessed the annual eight-hour demonstration. The number of societies participating showed an increase. The Wheel Race was won by A. Browne; the Milo International Scratch by Don Walker; the Five-mile by Hopper, the American, with Walker second. Speaking .at the luncheon, Mr Tom' Mann denounced the Irvine Government. He declared that it was essentially capitalistic, and that nothing but wiping out the Government and'the complete establishment of a real Democratic Parliament, in sympathy with the true wealth-producer, would suffice.
