■» -■ The ■ ordinary meeting of the Waihomo County Council was held at Palniersion ou Saturday, when there were present—The Chairman (Mr Magnus Isbister), Crs J. Ross, T. Muir, D. Philip, G. Clark, J.. Ross, R. Cameron, and K. Matheson. inspector's heport. The Inspector (Mr G. Cniicltslimilc) reported with icgaid to Graen Valley feiding that ho had Visited tho road past Lee : s properly. The road had been originally formed by tho Waihemo Road Board, and "it was now deeply ratted by storm water from a lagoon on Mr Lee's property. He had given notice, for the stoppage of the water flow. • The water, did not impede traffic in any way, hut the. soil was light and drifted when oponod up. In Macraes Hiding Bc-ngie's contract was finished. He (the inspector) had formed tho road where gravel was to bo laid. Another 160 cubic yards of meta-1 was required for tho load.—The report was received and adopted. CORFIESrONDEXCE. , The Receiver of Laud Revenue forwarded voucher for the sura of £65 4s, being " thirds " and " fourths " accrued during tho period between October 7, 1902, and January 3, 1903.— Received. The Treasury Department forwarded a voucher for £1 Ui, being fees, fines, penalties, etc., collected at the. Warden's Court, Naschy.— Received. , The Department of Roads wrote stating that it had received the specifications for tho proposed Diinback-Swinburn road works, but the authority for expending the voto had not been issued. As soon as that was done the specifications would bo examined; and the eamo applied to the specifications for tho Bushy traffic bridge.—Received. The Chief Engineer of Roads wrote, on behalf of the Hon. tho Minister of Lar.ds, acknowledging receipt of. the council's letter asking that the authority for Unbalance of tho voto for work on Shag River traffic bridge might be issued to the council, and stating, in reply, that an authority for £179 18s 5d was now issued.—Received and approved. Tho Union Bank of Australasia- forwarded a cheque for £10 9s 6d. being unclaimed money lying to tho credit of the Shag Valley Road Committee.—Received. The Government Valuer forwarded noticethat the council's property, part section 11, and sections 10 to 15, block 111, Moeraki, of an area, of 2 acres 2 roods 23 poles, had bec-n assessed at a capital value of .£24.—Received. GMERAL. Accounts amounting io £203 9s 10d were passed for payment. The following tenders were accepted:—One mile and a-half formation and gravel, Goodwood Village Settlement—Thomas Houston, at £98 ss; 120 chains formation and gravel, Stoneburn road, Dunback-Petor Lunan, Is 8d; two mile? and a-hslf formation; -Dunback and Macraes road—W. Peddie, £257 63 8d; 400 yds gravel, Macraea to Hyde raid—Alexander Trotter, at £40. It was decided to call fresh tenders for one mile and a-half gravelling on Fukebtpu Settlement road. Bushy, and for the rebuilding of culvert and re-forming road at Sling Point, no tenders having been roceived for these works. . The attention of the inspector was drawn, by Cr Philp, to the state of Moir'a bridge at Dunback, and Hie inspector Btated that he would inspect the bridge shortly.:' N Some discussion took place regarding noxious weeds, it being stated that householders and others were in the habit of casting weeds and refuse on the roadway and into watercc-urses, and it was decided that the- inspector should be instructed to warn anyone he noticed adopting this practice. - ■ .
