The Tramways Committee recommend that the following tenders bo accepted:—(l) For the construction of Lee Stream hydraulic works tunnel, Mr A. Ferry, £18,830,' to 'ho completed in 30 months; a boniH of £100 per month to be given for every month that the contract is completed before the 30 months. (2) For flic supply of 30-inch pipes, Messrs A. and T. Burt (Limited), for two milfs, at tho sum of £3910 C 3 9d. Messrs Noyes Bros.' request for keys of office, books, stationery, telep»ione extension, find other office requisites has been granted; also for insurance on their instruments and books in tho Town Hall. Messrs Noyes Bros, have been authorised to act in strengthening the bridge leadin" to the quarry at- Woodlmtgh. Messrs Noves Bros.' requisition for power to purchase a dust proof mbtor for tlio car house repair shop has been granted. Messrs Nbvcs Bros.' action in cabling for the whole of the cars to be shipped bv Messrs J. G. Brill and Co., Philadelphia, at once has been approved. During tile fortnight ended 21st February the tramway receipts and mileage, as compared with tho'corresponding period for last year were as follows: —Receipts: 1903, £1235 lis Id; (mileage) 18,679 miles 03 chains. 1902, £1037 7s 9d; 19,006 miles 26 chains.
