LYTTELTON REGATTA.

• The Lyttelton regatta took place on New Year's Bay, in. splendid weather, with a fresh S.W. breeze. The attendance was very large. Fourteen thousand passengers booked for Lyttelton at ChristchureH alone up to * p.m. Five vessels competed in the Coasting Schooners'- Race, which Amelia Sims won by • HJimin from Bonga, with Jessie Niccol third.
