MIDDLEMARCH SPORTS.

Splendid weather arid an excellent attendance fell to tho lot of the Middlcmarch Sports Committee on New Year's Day, and the meeting was a success from first to last. The committee arid their secretary (Mr E. Walker) ono and all'worked hard to effect a success, and they succeeded. The .entries were good, and the handicapping resulted in the majority of cases in good finishes. Good music was provided by the Mosgicl'Brass Band (under Bandmaster .J.'White), and Pipers Grant, Dow, Jl'Donald,- M'Lpan, and .Roberta. The gold 'medal for.tho most points gained by any competitor fell to K. Hansen, and his win was a very popular on* as he is" a good allround athlete.
