RAVENSBOURNE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ORGAN.
The pipe organ lately disposed of by tho Hanover- Street Baptist. Church lias, after a thorough overhaul at the nands of Mr Jenkins, the Avell-known orgaji-builder; of Chrietchurch, been erected,in.thp Ravensbqurne Presbyterian Church. The organ is a tAvo-manUal inetruir.ent, Avith eight .stops, and two octaves of pedal keys attached,to the gieat organ manual, and contains-the following full specification of stops:—-Great organ compass, CC to G- m alto, 56 notes.. .(1) Open diapason (meta.l), Bft, C to G-, 44 pipes;. (2), stopped bass (wood), Bft,\ CC to B. 12 pipes'; (3)" clarabolla (Avood), BJt, C to G, 44 pipes; (■!) principal (metal), 4ft, CC to G-, 56 pipes; swell organ compass, CC to G in alto, 56 notes: (6) licblich gedact (wood), Bft, C to G, 44 pipes; (7) Avaldfluto (wood), 4ft,. C to, G, 44.-pipes; (8) BAveVl to great coupler. . The total number of pipes is 300, enclosed in a ca9e of a neat Gothic deaign, grained rosewood, the lower notes of the open diapason and principal, pipes being symetrically arranged, a-nd the front omnmental pipe 3 decorated iii gold and colours, the painting aAd decorating being tho work of Mr M. Smith, of Princes street South. The instrument is flweefc4onedj ■ and, 'for tho size of the church, powerful, and has the rich, mellow tone that only years can give. It was used for the service on Sunday for the first time, when a large congregation assembled both morning and evening. Miss Wise (the honorary organist) handled the instrument with ■ taste and skill. It is intended to give' an organ reoital very shortly, when one or two of the city organists have kindly promised to giA-e their services.
