TARANAKI DEFEATS WELLINGTON.

NEW PLYMOUTH, August 14.

The interprovincinl football match, Wellington against Taranaki, was played hero to-day before 2000 people. The ground was in fair order, though riightly greasy as the result of light rain last night. The teams looked a fairly even lot, and the play showed that there- was not a great deal between them.
