ENTERTAINMENTS.

The Albany street School Old Boys' Club oponed their third session by having their annual social. The hall was tastefully decorated by the lady members of the club. About 40 couples led off tho dancing, which was kept up till the early hours of the morning. Mr Wilkinson, on behalf of the school committee, addressed those present on the good work done by such societies, and' urged on the members the ncecssity of promoting the interests of the Debating Society. During the evening musical items wero given by Misses Mitchell, Findlay, Hall, and Preen, Messrs Hutton, Murdock (21, nnd Waugh, and three very acceptable items by Mr Stokes's mandoline orchestra. Refreshments were handed round by the ladies Messrs Cowio and Moss acted as M.C.s.

The. first social of the present season under the auapiccs of the Duncdin Amateur Boating Club Quadrille Assembly took place in the club hall lust evening, and proved fully as enjoyable as the preceding functions of n similar nature held by Iho club. About 40 couples, wore present, and danced merrily till about 2 a.m., to the inspiriting music supplied by tho Messrs Yates brothers. Messrs Wilhelmson • nticl Isaacs fulfilled tho duties of M.C.S iu.ft manner that left nothing to be desired, and wero indefatigable in their efforts to promote'the full enjoyment ol everyone present. During the evening songs wcre'rendero-l by Messrs \V. Wilhclmson 11ml C. Graham, whoso efforts were highly appreciated, serving as they did to provide a little variety from the dancing.
