OTAGO CENTRAL RAILWAY LEAGUE.

Tho monthly meeting of the executive of the Otago, Central .Railway League, held last evening, was attended by Messrs. W. Barron (chairman), Bamet,' Card; Stronacli, Kemp, thorne, and lMhgate.' Mr John M'Kriy reported from Weddcrturn as to the progress of the railway as follows:— - . ' Mr Arnold, M.F.R., who was in attendauce, said he had not been able to-obtain the information ashed for as to expenditure of vote to end of finaneiui year, the reply from tho Government being that the department was very busy, and could not fiiid time to obtain, tho necessary figures.' Mr Arnold promised to serid another telegram, so that tho information would he ready for tho annual report. He also gave Fomo interesting details as to the present slate ami future prospects of the wor'. He expressed (lie opinion that the section to Blacketone Hill would he open, as he had expected, before the end of June. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Arnold for. his attention to the Inuinesj of the league. On the motion of Mr Kempthorne, seconded by Mr . Stroiiadi) tho .chairman and Mr Uathgate were requested to prepare tbe annual report to he submitted to next meeting.
