MEETINGS AND ENTERTAINMENTS.

At the Oddfellows' Hall, Albany street, tho half-yearly meeting of officers of Leith Lodge, 1.0.0.F M took 'place on Monday night. The attendance was the beet recorded for some years past. Representatives were present from sister lodges as follows:—Star of Auckland, Wellington, Southland, Owaka, Linden, and Unity. The Grand Lodge wn3 represented by Grand Master Bro. Crichton,G.S. Bro. Reid, and G.T., Bro. Alexander. The following were the officers installed:—J.P.O., Bro. A. Flligaili N.G. Bro. A. Sneil; V.G., Bro. Andrew Gardner', secretary, Bro. 1). M. Miller (the thirtyfirst time); treasurer, Bro. 11. W. Howrth. Tho N.O. appointed Bro. C. M'Peak his R. Supporter, and Bro. C. Lothian L. Supporter; Bro. F. Adams, wardon; Bro. H. Carey, conductor; "Bro. Robert Chadwick, I Guard; Bros. P. Roberts and 'A. Valentine, R. and L. Supporters. The V.C. appointed Bros. Elliott ?nd Brotherhood his supporters; tiustcei, Bros. Reid/Wilson, ajid Stokes; hall management, the trustees, secretary, and treasurer; auditors—Bros. Barclay, Walker, ana M'Peak. Tho G.M. congratulated the lodge on its choico of officers and attendance of members, and announced the opening of a new lodge at Gisbornc. He also made reference to tho death of one of the oldest members of the lodge (Bro. P. Russell, P.D.D.G.M.), who, as far back as tho sixties, had borne most of the burden of the pioneer work in Otago. Bro. J. M'Peak, returning officer for the district, supervised tho ballot for the election of representatives to the Grand Lodge. Tho report of the Friendly Societies' Guarantee Association showed a successful year and the issue of free policies. Several applications for tho higher degree of the order wero granted. A cordial welcomo was accorded to the Grand Lodge officors and to the visiting brethren. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held on Tuesday, January 8, N.G. Bro. J. Johnston presiding. There was a fair attendance of members. After the correspondence had been read and dealt with, the following contributed to the harmony of the evening:—V.G. Bro. T. Plynn, P.P.G.M.Bro. Ibbotson, Warden Bro.Crawford. N.G. Bro. Johnston gave an interesting account of liis trip round tho goldiields, making special mention of the hearty wclcome accorded him by brother Oddfellows in that district. P.P.G.M. Ibbotson (Dimcdiu Lodge) responded to tho second toast. Receipts, £63 1 s 7d. . Tho usual fortnightly meeting of the Prido of Mornington Lodge, U.A.Q.D., was held in St. Mary's Hall, Mornington, last uight, when a good muster of members attended, A.D. Bro. Torrance in the chair. After ordinary business was transacted the lodge went into harmony, songs being contributed by Bros. Hudsou, Norman, Orchard, Druiy, and Simpson. It was resolved to pay an official visit to the Enterprise Lodge this' (Thursday) evening. Two members were proposed for initiation. Receipts for the evening, il 12s Bd.
