Forago will be provided at Tahuna Park, and the shod will bo available for saddlery; a night watchman will be arranged for, and all that the me.n need bring is a halter and a nose bag (an ordinary bag can be readily utilised). It is suggested that there should be a parade through the city the evening before the arrival of the Orient, with a. land or bands, and then the men would parado again next morning, and, when the returning troopers arrive, would give them their mounts, and also mount those men who havo already returned, taking the horses from them again at theForbury Park, or wherever the. men are dismissed. It is to be regretted that the funds available will not permit of the members of tho suggested corns being entertained as the quests of the city, but their horses will be fed free of charge, and the men will be admitted free to all functions, and will receive every possible consideration at the hands of the committee. Tho details will be in the able hands of Captains Price and Morris and Surgeonmajor Coughtrey, so that there will bo no bungling or confusion, and no risk to the horses brought with the men. I trust that there will be a ready response to our appeal, and that we shall see a full muster of the men wo would have to rely upon to supple'ment our mounted forces in time of trouble. There is no reason why we should not see a muster of from 300 to 500 mounted men, and I think we can safely promise them a good time. —I am, etc., John F. M. Fkaser. Dunedin, January 9.
