Sm,—Will the chairman, secretary, or any of tho members, of the Waikouaiti Jockey Club kindly' explain why the privilege to have n publican's booth on the racecourse was let at £10, without competition or advertising, when £25 could have been procured for the right of Famo had tho privilege- been put up to public competition? Do any of the club think such a course straight running, and likely to forward the interests of tho club in future?—l am, etc., Inquired.
