Miss Jessie Brockie recited "Nellie's Prayer" in a manner which did hei credit, and addresses were given by Mr Smitli, Sister Ruth, and Miss Jamieson. After refreshments had been handed round, Miss Jamieson stated that she had been asked to perform a very pleasant little duty on behalf of the classes, and that was to present Sister Ruth with a very handsoniely-bouiid revised reference Bible, bearing the inscription : "To Sislei Ruth, from the members of her Y.T/.C.A. classes, in grateful recognition of her labour of love amongst them during ISOO.' Miss Jamieson added.that she was very pleased to see so many present, and to know ihat they appreciated the elevating work Sister Kuth and the association general!}' were seeking to do amongst them. She intimated that although the classes wen? going into recess the rooiiis would be open, and they would all bo warmly welcomed at any time. The institution existed for their use and welfare. Sister Enth, on rising to return thanks, was very warmly received. She said she had been completely taken by surprise, and therefore could not find words to express her thanks for the lovely book and kind thoughts which hrtd prompted the gift. She added that she would like them to take a greater interest in the association in future, and mentioned that Mrs Oatts, from Glasgow, wha had been visiting the Y.W.C.A. all over the world, is expected in Dunedin shortly, and she hoped they would all come to her meetings, the dates of which would be duly advertised.
