MEETINGS AND ENTERTAINMENTS.
Tlie Evergreen Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held their vtekly" meeting at' Green Island on Tuesday; 'jiro, E. South, C.T., presiding. Two candi- ■ cates- were elected. The .Hope of Caversham Lodge- paid an official' visit, and were cordially welcomed. The following officers were elected:. C.T.^Bxo. E. South; V.T.,. Sis. F. Hall; S.j Bro W. M'Leari; A.S., Bro. J. Falconer; V.S., Bro. T. M'Caughan; T., Sis. E. Hill; ivL.,' Bro. A. Jenkins; D.M., Bro. li. Knos; C, Sis.'M. Hill; G., Bro. J."Davis; S., Bro. Douglas. "After installation'the lodge went imo harmony, "and Sis. F. Thorn, Bra. Tilly, Krid Bro: Stubbs gave items: The usual vote of thanks to the visitors was responded to by .LSro. Clarkson (Hope of Caversham) and Bro. •Stubbs (Alliance). •■ ■ A social gathering was hold in the Mission .Hall on "Wednesday evening to celebrate the inauguration of the newly-formed Girls' Guild. The Rev. W. A. Sinclair (pastor) presided, and about 200 persons wore present. Vocal items were rendered by Misses Clarke, Sanders, and Sister Marie, and Messrs D. Melville, W. 01----aen, and E. H. Hutton, and Mrs W. A. Sinclair, Recitations were given by the Rev. W. A. Sinclair and Miss B. Gunn, Home, and Brockio. Mr B. A. de Lautour contributed a violin solo, and Mr Whale a cornet solo. Sister Marie (president of the Girls' Guild) explained the objects of the guild. Meetings will be held regularly. " Some of the items to which the ' guild will devote attention aro- gymnastics, drawing, cooking, wood-carving, and other necessary acquirements. The guild is hopeful ■ of doing'good, and no effort will be spared to ■ make it a success. Sister Marie asked all present to assist her, and new members will ba heartily welcomed. The meeting was most enjoyable, and gave the Girls' Guild a good com- ■ inencement. Miss Macgregor acted as accompanist during the evening.
