The Age says: " Nevv Zealand's recent development of military enthusiasm is another evidence that the tendency to exaggeration is extreme, and is unlikely to be approved by New Zealand in her cooler moments, nor be imitated by the Common-
wealth."

WELLINGTON, Jjily 27. The' Premier received the following cable gram' from the Agent-general' to-day : —
" The Times in a leader remarks with, reference to your Imperial defence scheme as follows: 'It shows how the minds' of Englishmen in one of the most prosperous, most democratic, and most loyal of oiir colonies are moving, they being in the same direction as the minds of Englishmen at Home.'" ■'" ' •
