NEW MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS BILL.

Sir, —I am a bit fogged over tho Municipal Bill and your comments thereon in to-day's paper. If I build a house I have to give a backyard of 150 square feet. Also, I have to keep 10ft on either side clear of my lieighbour. Consequently, if I should be foolish enough to buy a piece of ground in Princes street or any other street—say, a frontage of 25ft, and tho regulations are as stated, this would leave me sft of a frontage on which to build.—l am, etc.,

[Our correspondent is under a misapprehension. An open.' space of at least 150 ft must be provided. This may be at the side or in the rear of the building. It shall extend throughout either tho entire depth' or the entire width of tho building. And the distance across it from every part of tho building to the boundary of the lands or premises immediately opposite or adjoining the site of tho building must not in any case be less than 10ft. it depends upon the height of the building. If the building is 35ft high or more, the distance across the open space bo at least ?sft. The provision only applies to dwolling houses.—Ed. O.D.T.]
