In the House of Commons. Mr Balfour said America, in response to requests from Presidents Steyn and Kruger, had offered Britain friendly aid in the interests of peace. Lord Salisbury, while thanking America for her friendship, intimated that there was no intention to accept intervention from any Power. This was received with prolonged Ministerial cheers.
