It is officially reported that Sir Charles Warren's forces abandoned Spion Kop on Wednesday night.
The announcement of the abandonment of the position has created intense disappointment throughout the United Kingdom.
Consols declined 10s.
Mr Winston Churchill reports that when Sir Charles Warren captured the first line of trendies on Spion Kop he found 200 dead Boers.
There are six Boer camps visible between Lady smith and .Potgieter's Drift.
