The attendance was not equal to that of the first day, but £11,913 was put through the lotalisutor. Several horses came down, but a broken collarbone was the worst accident. At the mile post Ilex jumped the obstacle two lengths behind the leader. Deny fell at the six furlongs post. Defiance negotiated the last fence just in front of Ilex, with Popgun a length away.
