FATAL MINING ACCIDENT.
TWO MEN KILLED.

INVERCARGILL, April 18.
Constable Fretwell, of Orepuki, 'telegraphs that John Pattison and Alexander Beattson were killed this afternoon by a fall of, earth from the face of Treseder's sluicing claim, beyond the river Waiau. Pattison is believed to be son of a wellknown Riverton hotelkeeper, recently deceased.
