DREDGING RETURNS,

Our Cromwell correspondent telegraphs the following returns:—Alpine dredge, Dloz 15dwt; Hartley and Riley, 51oz 12dwt.

The return from the Alnecnt dredge is 350z 15dwt for 110 hours' dredging.

.The Secretary of the Magnetic Dredging Company reports a return of 2;t..07. for the week ending Saturday, and that the prospects are excellent. '

Tho Manorburn Gold Dredging Company (Limited) reports a return ot 25_.0z. Owing to tho manager having to (ix a now pinion wheel, tho dredge only worked 92 hours last week. Tho return from the Golden Gate dredge, Island Block, is 490z ldwt for six days' dredging Mr F. Proctor, secretary of the Nevis Drcdgin — Company, reports a return of 30oz for 2-10 hours. The dredge is working splendidly.

Mr Jabez Burton reports that the return from the Ettrick dredge is Ooz of gold. The river is m flood.

The Dunedin Stock Exchango report the following return for last week:—Otago Dredging Company, 20oz lldwt. . :

Tha Secretary ot the Golden Beach Company reports that the return for last week was 620z lSdwt 12gr gold for 126 hours' dredging. The return from the Dunedin Gold Dredging Company's dredge last week was 12o?, gold. Tho yield from the Clyde Dredging Company's dredgo for last week was llo_. The river is sft 9in above the normal mark.

The New Zealand Gold Dredging Company's dredge Morning Star, situated on the Manuhcrikia River, next to tho Manoiburn dredge, obtained 55bz for tho four weeks ended lst April, with broken timo, and 38oz 3dwt for the fortnight ending Saturday. No. 1 intermediate has been driven 10ft for the week. The ground is still favourable. The battery, started yesterday morning."
